Why You Should Join

The success of the team is dependent on the cooperation, participation, and support of the membership. To fulfill our mission of protecting private lands from non-native invasive species we rely on members to:

  • Attend at least one training day in the first year of membership
  • Pay annual membership dues of $50
  • Be present and assist on their own work days
  • Attend at least one other member’s workday a year (or pay $100 fee to hire equivalent labor)
  • Provide proof of property liability insurance

Our Members Enjoy:

  • Professional guidance and assistance with Invasive Species Management (ISM) planning and implementation.
  • Hands-on training in invasive species identification, ecology, and management
  • Assistance from seasoned professionals and well-trained volunteer crews
  • Access to specialized equipment from the Invasive Plant Mobile Equipment Bank
  • Compliance with state and local regulations Conservation efforts for our local forests benefit the entire community.

 

Your documented time and efforts help the Forest Restoration Support Team and our partners secure grants that allow us to keep pursuing our mission of healthier Illinois forests. Participating in our programs also provides fantastic opportunities for collecting service hours for community groups and scholarship applications.
